1. The short version
retconic.com uses Plausible Analytics, which does not set cookies. We do not track you across sites. We do not sell your data. We do not use cookies for advertising.
The cookies we may set are strictly necessary — for example, to remember that you have dismissed the cookie banner.
2. What is a cookie?
A cookie is a small text file that a website saves on your device. They are commonly used to make websites work, remember preferences, or track behaviour across sites. UK PECR (Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations) requires us to tell you what we use them for and, in most cases, ask consent before setting them.
3. What we use
Strictly necessary
- Cookie banner state — remembers that you’ve dismissed the banner so it doesn’t reappear on every page. Stored in
localStorage, not a cookie strictly speaking. Lifetime: until you clear your browser storage.
Analytics (cookieless)
- Plausible Analytics — counts visits and page views in aggregate. Sets no cookies, collects no personal data, and does not track across sites. Aggregate data only, hosted in the EU.
What we don’t use
- Advertising cookies.
- Third-party tracking pixels.
- Social media tracking.
- Cross-site profiling.
4. Future changes
If we ever introduce non-essential cookies (we don’t plan to), this page will be updated and we’ll ask for your consent at that point.
5. Managing cookies in your browser
Every browser lets you view, manage, and delete cookies. The Information Commissioner’s Office has a guide at ico.org.uk/cookies.
